This morning we woke up to more fog. We couldn't even tell which direction we were facing when we looked out our hotel window. We decided to go for a walk on the beach anyway. Enjoyed watching dogs play, runners run and birds fly. This statue is an Inukshuk, an ancient Inuit sign and the symbol for the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics. Everywhere we went, there were signs of the city getting ready for the Olympics. So, even though this is a shot in the fog, it had to be my photo of the day. Later in the day, as we were walking along Fisherman's Wharf, the sun came out in a glorious way and I was able to get some cool photos of the boats, the bridge and the city reflecting in the water. Check out all of our photos from our wonderful weekend in Vancouver here.
The Travels of Erik and Martha
This blog was started 3 years ago to share my adventures with my students. Always the teacher, even when I am on summer vacation. We had a class cow mascot that traveled with me. What grew out of a class project, has turned into a family travel log. Shania, usually doesn't come along any more, but the name remains. In 2009, I started a new challenge. I am now posting a photo a day on my 365 Challenge page. When we travel, I will double post both here and on my 365 Challenge blog. I love to travel. Erik is a great companion on the road. We have great adventures and it is fun to share those adventures with others.
