My husband said today that he was glad that he married me in the digital age. I took tons of photos today. Good think to have digital and a pro Flickr account. Really, there are just two main subjects. We spent the morning at the Antelope Valley Poppy Reserve. Lots and lots of wildflower shots, plus a few interesting reptile shots. We then headed to Death Valley. Lots of rocks and sand dunes. Not much opportunities for wireless, so I am not able to do all the fun things that I would like to do with my photos yet, but will clean them up, organize and geotag when I get a change. Impossible to pick just one photo. How can I pick the rattlesnake with all those beautiful wildflower scenes. And then there are the sand dunes, so very different. I finally chose a wildflower shot, because I love wildflowers. As we brainstormed ideas for our trip, the Poppy Reserve was top on my list.
The Travels of Erik and Martha
This blog was started 3 years ago to share my adventures with my students. Always the teacher, even when I am on summer vacation. We had a class cow mascot that traveled with me. What grew out of a class project, has turned into a family travel log. Shania, usually doesn't come along any more, but the name remains. In 2009, I started a new challenge. I am now posting a photo a day on my 365 Challenge page. When we travel, I will double post both here and on my 365 Challenge blog. I love to travel. Erik is a great companion on the road. We have great adventures and it is fun to share those adventures with others.
