The Travels of Erik and Martha

This blog was started 3 years ago to share my adventures with my students. Always the teacher, even when I am on summer vacation. We had a class cow mascot that traveled with me. What grew out of a class project, has turned into a family travel log. Shania, usually doesn't come along any more, but the name remains. In 2009, I started a new challenge. I am now posting a photo a day on my 365 Challenge page. When we travel, I will double post both here and on my 365 Challenge blog. I love to travel. Erik is a great companion on the road. We have great adventures and it is fun to share those adventures with others.

8-13-09 Montana Wildflowers

Today we left the beautiful Canadian Rockies and headed out on another adventure. Today was all about rolling plains, fields of wheat, Native American communities and watching stormy skies. We passed by the East side of Glacier National Park. Soon after our last visit to Glacier, they had huge forest fires. Sadly, the effects of those fires is still really evident. But new growth is starting to emerge in the form of colorful wildflowers. Lots of beautiful wildflowers and the vastness of the big Montana sky graced us as we drove to Great Falls, Montana.
